One of the picturesque venues in the Midwest, the Loras College Rock Bowl Stadium has been the home to Duhawk football since 1940. Through a series of major renovations prior to the 2005 season, Loras College showcased the stadium’s long history and tradition of success.
The existing press box, located prominently in the center of campus, was replaced with an architectural icon. This linear building, constructed of concrete block, was topped with a curved roof of wood laminate beams and standing seam metal.
The building now serves as a gateway to the Rock Bowl Stadium, and a stamped concrete plaza joins the two. As the lead architect, David Leapaldt worked with the field surface supplier as well as the bleacher supplier to ensure that all of the elements worked together to achieve a cohesive, signature look.
